Barney is running the London Marathon for Grove Cottage!

Barney Thorp, a former volunteer at Grove Cottage is running the London Marathon this Sunday to raise money for Grove Cottage – the home of Bishop’s Stortford Mencap.

Barney, 28, used to live with his family in Great Dunmow, but is now based in Andover in Hants. He said, “I am running the London Marathon for Grove Cottage because of their incredible role in transforming livelihoods.

“I have been close to this fantastic place for a decade and am still amazed by the great work they do supporting people with learning disabilities and their families, enabling them to thrive and most of all have fun!”

Alison Cameron, Fundraising Assistant at Grove Cottage, says: “We are delighted that Barney is running in this year’s London Marathon to raise money for Grove Cottage, and we are all behind him. Last year he also ran the Abingdon Marathon raising over £600 for us, so even though Barney has now moved away from the area, he is still finding a way to support Grove Cottage which is amazing!”

There is still time to donate to Barney’s fundraising page and show your support https://www.justgiving.com/page/barnaby-thorp-1680341699965
