Round Table’s Santa Sleigh raises £4,363 for Grove Cottage!
Members of The Bishop’s Stortford & Stansted Round Table visited Grove Cottage’s Adult Social Club on Thursday 6th February to present a cheque for £4,363.92 which was raised from donations from their Santa Sleigh collections in December 2019.
A team of volunteers from both the Round Table and Grove Cottage took to the streets of Bishop’s Stortford in December armed with buckets and smiles, and of course Santa and his sleigh, to collect money for Grove Cottage. All in all, the team walked the streets of Bishop’s Stortford over six evenings and covered Bishop’s Park, Thorley, Parsonage Estate, St Michael’s Mead and Chantry areas.
Alison Cameron, Fundraising Assistant at Grove Cottage said, “We are extremely grateful to The Bishop’s Stortford & Stansted Round Table who once again chose Grove Cottage as the main beneficiary of their Santa Sleigh in 2019, and to the team of volunteers who made this possible, as well as to everyone who generously donated money to the Santa Sleigh.
“This is a tremendous donation and every penny will help Grove Cottage to continue to fund Clubs and activities for people of all ages with learning disabilities and to provide respite for their families and carers. Without support like this from our local community we would not be able to provide these vital services, thank you so much.”
Andrew Thomas, Chairman of the Bishop’s Stortford & Stansted Round Table said: “We were delighted to be able to present this cheque to Grove Cottage and meet some of the members, staff and volunteers at the Grove Cottage Adult Social Club. It’s always great to see at first hand where the money is making the difference.”
