Job Title: Nursery Keyperson
Reporting to: Nursery Manager
Hours: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent – Monday to Friday
Main Purpose of Role: To ensure effective, high quality and professional delivery of Grove Cottage‘s Special Needs Nursery provision.
General Duties:
Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for children
Ensure children’s needs are fully catered for including:
Support children socially and emotionallyDeliver stimulating and fully-inclusive activities within the EYFS frameworkDeliver appropriate extracurricular activitiesTake part in outings, including weekly swimming sessions and half termly day tripsAdminister medication and tube feeding as necessary (training will be provided)Prepare snacksAssist with toileting and general wellbeingSet up equipment and tidy away each day. Ensure areas are safe. Regularly check equipmentKeep up to date with policies and ensure policy compliance. Work within Ofsted guidelinesObserve, monitor and report on children’s progress within the EYFS frameworkUndertake ongoing training, as necessaryLiaise with schools and other educational settings. Assist with smooth transitions into nursery and to new settingsLiaise with parents/carers on an ongoing basisParticipate in meetings with families and external agenciesAttend regular staff meetings
Key Skills & Attributes:
Experience of working with children with learning disabilities is desirable
Knowledge of Early Years services and EYFS is requiredGood verbal and written communication skillsBasic IT skillsWillingness to undertake training as requiredGood at juggling taskUses initiative to solve problemsTeam player and self-motivated to work on own as requiredFocused on getting job donePositive role model, enthusiastic and inspires others, advocate of Grove CottageProfessional appearance and approach to workDemonstrate integrity and confidentiality and show initiativeFlexible and adaptableGood attention to detailAbility to stay calm under pressureMethodical and thorough approach to workOrganised

Required Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 in Early Years (or equivalent)Paediatric First Aid
